World's first cloned horse gallops into the stable!

Who
is Prometa? The name which means pleased to be in
human company belongs to a foal. And no ordinary foal.
Prometa is the world's first cloned horse coming all
the way from the Laboratory of Reproductive Technology
in Cremona, Italy.
Prometa's creator Cesare Galli has just published
his paper in the
|
prestigious international journal Nature. Cesar and his
team tried nearly 328 times before they finally succeeded.
That means they were incredibly patient.
Prometa
is a Haflinger - a popular European breed. What those in
power in the race course might have to say to this is still
a matter of debate. Thoroughbred horseracing does not allow
artificial insemination or any kind of fertility treatment.
