When
was the last time you sat out in the sun? If it
was eons ago, then the first thing you need to do
is search for your dusty, musty straw hat. Brush
it well. May be even give it a quick wash and dry
it well in the sun.
If
you don't have a straw hat, buy one today. Search
for your swimsuits or beachwear and your suntanning
lotion and goggles.

Get
yourself a nice umbrella kind of rest. If you don't have
one and don't want to spend on one, make one. That's simple
isn't it? If that's too difficult go down to your hardware
shop and ask for help. You' ll get all the help you need.
This
weekend, go sunbathing with your family and your pets. Enjoy
the rumble and roar of the sea. Boats cruising by. A strong
wind giving chase to birds on the wing. Carry back a little
bit of the tropics with you or is it the Mediterranean sky
and cliffs?
Wherever
you may decide to sunbathe close to the sea of a tropical
bay or a little cove or island or even just a plain, old
forgotten creek, just make sure that your whole family is
out there with you.
Whichever
it is, it's that little patch of land where you can just
unwind and relax with a sonorous sonata of the ocean waves
rumbling into your head and heart.
Even
if you don't live close to the sea, sunbathing is something
that you can do while sitting right on the verandah of your
home or garden.
You
don't need to exclude your pets or the senior citizens of
your home. A little bit of sun is good for everyone. The
early morning sunrays have some remarkable curative properties.
In many ancient cultures, the worship of the sun gods was
a practice and custom considered to be a life-giving ritual.
In
India, worship to the Sun God was refined to a devout prayer,
rigorous ritual and exercise. That is now widely regarded
even by Western science as a highly beneficial exercise
called Suryanamaskar! Or Worship to the Sun God.
If
you like you can greet each day with the worship of the
Sun God. If the idea does not appeal to you, still take
some time off to enjoy the salubrious warmth and the healing
properties of the early morning sun.
Make
sure that your sitting out in the sun does not lead to sunburn.
Don't sit too long and especially if the glare of the sun
is too strong. That can harm your eyes and burn your skin.
Be especially careful with your pets and the kids. Make
sure nobody tries to look up at the midday sun. That can
damage the eyes.
