New feline bacterial parasite isolated.

Foley et al at the Department of Medicine and Epidemiology, Scholl of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis have described the characteristics of a small low-virulence bacterial parasite of cats. The novel organism that has been isolated appears to belong to the Mycoplasma clade and seems to be closely related to a parasite of pigs previously designated Eperythrozon
