Seed games for your feathered pets !

Introduction

Most pet birds simply adore eating seeds. Therefore, when you play some interesting games with your feathered pets, that can be not only exciting and entertaining, but also a very positive appetite booster.

Flying seed kites!
Parrot
To play this game what you will need is a few paper kites. You can paste some tasty seeds at the edges of each kite. First make sure that your pet bird watches you doing this.

Your pets are very observant. They may not find chasing paper kites very interesting. However, having the seeds attached to the kite can really make chasing a kite real fun and exciting from a bird's point of view.

Wood Pecker
While making the kite you can add a lot of false seed like images all over the kite. That can be really confusing! For your bird. And then, once again you must remember to fly the kite really low if it's a small bird and not used to flying a lot.

Of course, you can play this game indoors too, if your pet has never travelled out of the house beyond the windowsill.

Seed Dens!

This can be a game played on the ground. What you can do is carve out hollows in tree trunks or search for some natural ones. Then, you can hide some really, tempting and tasty fruits and seeds within the hollows.

Once you do that, you must cover the hollow with some bright, coloured cloth and attach a small, tinkling bell at each place. Set your birds free to explore these tiny, tree caves where food is hidden.

Floating Seed Boats
To make this game, what you will need is at least 5 or 6 brightly coloured battery powered boats that your children normally play with. To each one of them, you can attach a small packet of seeds and leave them afloat in the water.

When you see you pet bird approaching any one of them, simply accelerate the speed. Watch your birds tilt their heads in surprise as they go chasing after the boats.

Seed Hoppers!
To make a seed hopper, what you need to do is to take many small bouncing, rubber balls. To each one of them, you can attach a small packet of seeds. Throw one ball at a time in the air and let your bird get really puzzled trying to track the ball and discover the packet of seeds.
Singing Seeds
You can take many small tinkling bells ( at least 15 -20) and attach them to the lids of plastic bottle tops or even some small plastic bottles. Now all you have to do is to attach small seeds, which could be of different types, peanuts with shells, almonds with shells and such other tempting seed treats.

You can play this game indoors in your bathroom tub or outdoors in a small pond or swimming pool. If you play the game indoors, what you need to do is to fill the bath tub with water. Then place all the bottles, bottle tops etc with the tinkling bells attached to them in the water. Because the objects are made of plastic, they will all float in water while the bells will give a chiming sound. Now, place small seeds on top of each lid or bottle. You can use rice paste to stick the seed to the bottle top.

Let your pet birds come swooping in and have a really, good time picking up the seeds.

Conclusion
Birds simply adore loud sounds, colour and lots of action. Games with bright and colourful, fast, moving objects can really make any afternoon out with your bird a real pleasure trip for your featherd pet.
