Native to India, turmeric has been used to heal animals
for many millennia. It is only in the recent past that the
miraculous healing powers of this amazing plant has been
discovered in the west. Turmeric grows well in well drained,
sandy loam soils, rich in humus.
The medicinally active compounds isolated in turmeric are
known as curcumins from the dicinnamoyl-methane group have
been identified. These compounds have been found to have
strong antibacterial, antiviral and anticancer properties
Listed below are four different ways in which you can
use turmeric to heal your pets:
In wounds and boils
Your pet's having a really awful boil on the toes. Thick,
creamy, yellow pus just oozes out. What do you do? Garlic
juice burns and Aloe Vera gel adds to the gel like effect
already present in such a wound.
What you can do is to take a piece of fresh turmeric tuber.
Grind it to a fine paste and apply the paste everyday twice
or thrice on the affected boils or other infected areas
on the skin.
As an effective remedy for colds
If coughs! And colds! Just don't leave your pet alone, here's
what you can do. Mix quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder
along with a pinch of pepper powder. Add honey or jaggery.
Just take the concoction and feed your pet with it. Do this
twice a day and watch your pet become better by the hour.
In cancer
If your pet's had some malignancies and has been operated
upon, you can feed turmeric everyday. Add quarter teaspoon
of turmeric to your pet's food everyday. There are good
chances that the malignancies will not reappear again.
In hepatitis
If your pet is suffering from hepatitis too, you can help
your pet get better with turmeric. Give a pinch of turmeric
mixed with honey twice a day and watch the yellows just
fade out. If you follow all the proper dietary restrictions
of cutting down on the oils and fats, the chances of your
pet bounding back to good health will be quite good.
Conclusion
Whether your pet has a cold, cough, skin infections or hepatitis,
turmeric is sure to bring your pet back to form.
