Volunteers needed for WAR this December

Ranong, Thailand's wettest province has a WAR ( a Thai warriors group) in action - desperately fighting to save the sea turtles and dugongs. Baan Talae Nork in Ranong has mangrove forests which are among the largest, in the Indo-Pacific region. The internet address of this amazingly active crusaders is fittingly called warthai.

Baan Talae Nork , close to the Ranong Tidal Estuary with its strong currents is a great place to explore, observe, save, serve and study. The majority of the sea turtles come to breed around the 4 km long beach at Baan Talae Nork. Other breeding sites include Kam Islands 4kms.

Calling all turtle lovers of the world! Here's your great chance to go out and save the sea turtles.
From December to March, Olive Ridleys, Leatherbacks, Hawksbill and Green turtles visiting Thailand will all be studied and counted.

During those months, WAR will be out on the field with a mission - Project Sea Turtle.
WAR urgently needs volunteers who can come in and help. Twelve volunteers will have the privilege of being there on the field research assistants. The dugong project runs from November to June

Volunteers will have a local cleaner, cook, 3 meals per day and accommodation provided at Baan Talae Nork at the Royal Forestry Department Lodge. Just click on http://www.warthai.org and you will learn all about the organization and the project.
