NRC Issues New Nutrient Requirements

New
rules and regulations about what's good food for
dogs and cats have been made by the National Academies'
National Research Council (NRC) .
Unrevised
since the mid-1980s have been revised, one hopes
that the new guidelines will set in healthier eating
trends for our four legged friends.

The
report which runs to a bulky 450 pages has been sponsored
by the US National Institutes of Health, Food and Drug
Administration, and Pet Food Institute.
Reviews
of thousands of research findings published over a 25
year period have been included.
