A River recalls
Written
by Dr.Laxmi Iyer
Reeds
and rafts,
Boughs and branches,
Drooping straight lines,
by the water's edge,
Sprinkled with energy,
Sparkled,
Whirled currents flew,
|
|
Energized
by air feathers,
Of energy,
On a lilting breeze,
Shimmering,
Leaves and lofts,
Boats and barges,
Turtle and zebra fish,
Dolphin and porpoise,
Shells and seaweed
Dipping, Soaking, Weaving,
Running, swimming, diving,
All
Glowed with light,
Fed by the river's energy,
Until the day,
Killer chemicals drowned,
The flowing waters,
And around the lake.
A desert was born.
