Do
a Chakra work out part 2
written by Dr.Laxmi Iyer
Continuing
with the chakras, in the last article, you may have noticed
that at places, the word charka has popped up. It must
be obvious to you that's a spelling error which has not
been corrected. These inexcusable things happen even on
the web!
I
have been told by those in charge of hosting the site
that once the text is up on the site, errors cannot be
corrected. So, one learns to live with such things. Anyways
to continue from where we left off last time...
The
7 major chakras are:
Muladhara, Svadhisthana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishudha,
Ajna and Sahasrara
If
you cannot get the spellings or pronounciations right,
don't let that get in the way.
Just
focus on the colour, location and the significance of
each chakra's role in the physical body and your psychic
body. By the way for those of you who are beginning to
think that there are higher and lower chakras and some
are more important than the others, forget that stuff.
All
chakras are important including the base chakra or Muladhara.
This is especially so, because let's face it we live in
a 3 dimensional world where our physical existence appears
to feel so distinctly real.
More
important, what you need to remember is that since each
chakra has a distinctive role to play in your spiritual
evolution and the maintenance of a well functioning body
and mind, please feed each one of them with spiritual
energy.
One
of the best ways to recharge your chakras is through by
visualization. Mental imagery is powerful. Far more powerful
than you can imagine.
Now,
if you can use the chakra energiser for yourself and your
pets everyday at least twice a day during the sunrise
and the sunset hour, that would be fantastic.
During
that period, before you place the chakra energiser on
your body corresponding to the chakras, sit in a comfortable
posture and concentrate on each colour and the corresponding
region of the body where the chakra is present.
To
say this very briefly, the Muladhara chakra has a key
role to play in helping you to procreate and survive.
The colour of this chakra is red.
Coming
to the second chakra - the color associated with the Svadisthana
chakra is orange and this chakra plays a vital role in
ensure that you maintain good physical health and well
being.
In
the third chakra - the Manipura chakra whose colour is
yellow is considered by many to be a powerful spiritual
centre - a major zone that energizes both the physical
and psychical body and also provides support to the other
chakras in your body.
Now,
moving to the fourth chakra - the Anahata chakra or the
heart centre, the colour associated with this chakra is
green and wisdom, unconditional love and acceptance are
associated with this chakra.
From
this region on, all the chakras have a primary role as
psychic reservoirs of cosmic energy that empower one to
evolve on the spiritual or psychic plane of consciousness.
The
colour associated with the throat Chakra or Vishuddha
chakra is creative expression, especially with reference
to speech.
The
chakra located at the third eye is denoted by the colour
violet. The development of a powerful Ajna chakra is associated
with well developed powers of intuition, telepathy and
mystical experiences.
Streghthening
the last chakra - Sahasrara or crown chakra symbolized
by a thousand petalled lotus is believed to signify one's
complete evolution of cosmic consciousness.
It
is important to remember that it is not possible to accelerate
one's spiritual progress overnight. It is a process that
happens over time. Just like any other skill, it can be
learnt but one needs to be patient and determined.
Listening
to music, meditation, painting are all activities that
help one's chakras to get activated and charged.
However,
a necessary ingredient in one's spiritual evolution is
a strict adherence to the Ashtanga yoga or 8 fold path
of yoga as described by Patanjali in his yoga sutras.
The
strict observance of yamas and niyamas can greatly accelerate
one's spiritual evolution.
