Australia Celebrates National Threatened Species Day with Review Paper

In Australia, on National Threatened Species Day, 7 th September 2003, John Hill, Minister for Environment and Conservation reviewed the situation and outlined a plan of action. In the discussion paper presented by him, on the basis of a 3 year review, changes have been proposed to the threatened species schedules of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972.

For community participation, the discussion paper is available for public comment for a 12 week period.
