Animal Day 2003 Celebrations!

In
Australia, WSPA and the ACT (Australian Capital Territory)
Cat Alliance have organized a World Animal Day cat
show. The show is expected to be a major fund raising
event foir the WSPA. It's being held in Narrabundah,
ACT, on 4 and 5 October.
In
New Zealand the WSPA is inviting its supporters to
fund-raise for WAD with an initiative called 'Show
Your Stripes'.

The Singapore's Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (SPCA) has organized a special exhibition at the
Parco Bugis Junction shopping centre from 3 to 5 October.
In
Ireland the Dublin Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals is celebrating World Animal Week from 29 September
to 5 October, and will be selling animal badges all across
Dublin
In Israel, The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad
- SPANA has set up a new Educational Animal Centre. More
than £150,000 was raised from overseas contributors
to build the centre on land donated by the Jordanian Ministry
of Education. The Center is to be declared open on October
9th 2003 by the Minister of Education and Prince A'ssem.
On
4th October in celebration of WAD, the Lithuanian Society
For the Protection of Animals ( LiSPA) in partnership with
the Lithuanian State Food & Veterinary Service will
pronounce this day as a "Day of Compassion". Lispa
along with the Ministry of Education has published the Humane
Education Programme. The publication will go to all 20,000
schools in the Republic of Lithuania.
