They use their paws rather
efficiently. You should be forewarned never to declaw
cats - least of all a Javanese because of how often they
use their paws and claws just like the way we use our
fingers and nails. Mischevious and inquisitive.
Their coats have a lovely
silky sheen that virtually need very little looking after.
True to their name, this breed is believed to have originated
in Java.
With a long, tapering head,
with large, pointed ears, blue almond shaped eyes and
a long, straight nose, they look exquisite.
The Javanese have a silky
luxuriant coat with coat colours tending to darken with
age.
Points for disqualification
include lack of pigment in the nose leather and or paw
pads, crossed eyes, weak hind legs, undershot or overshot
chin, mouth breathing due to nasal obstruction or poor
occlusion.
Other points for disqualification
include a visible kink in the tail, eyes other than blue,
white toes or feet, incorrect number of toes and a double
coat.
Acceptable Javanese colours
include solid color points (cream or red point), lynx
point (blue, blue-cream, chocolate, chocolate-tortie,
cream, lilac, lilac-cream, red, seal, or seal-tortie)
Parti-Color Point (blue-cream, chocolate-tortie, lilac-cream
or seal-tortie)
