The Cornish Rex

With coats velvety soft, their large ears, small egg shaped heads and high cheekbones, the Cornish Rex is a breed that is stunningly attractive. Their rounded foreheads and Roman noses only add to their graceful appearance.

Their distinctly sculpted appearance gives you that unmistakable feeling that a divine sculptor exists.

Seeing a Cornish Rex without doubt brings to mind images of Egypt, pharaohs and cat goddesses.

Cornish Rex Breed

An amazing fact about the Cornish Rex is that they originated from Cornwall sometime around the 1950s and not from North Africa as one would imagine.

An arched back, barrel chest, long, fine legs remind you of the wiry Whippet.

Fond of children and people, playful and good tempered, this breed of cats can work a charm on even very aloof people. They make adorable pets.

If you decide to have a Cornish Rex as a pet, don't forget to play a game with them everyday for at least 5 minutes. They love games.

The Cornish Rex have a wide range of acceptable coat colours and patterns that vary from pure glistening white, to dense coal black to blue, red, cream, chinchilla silver, shaded silver, black smoke, blue smoke, red smoke, cream smoke to classic, spotted and mackerel tabby patterns.

Disqualifications include a kinked or abnormal tail, incorrect number of toes, coarse or guard hairs, signs of lameness or poor health.
