However,
to find a good pure bred Siberian is still quite an onerous
task for most breeders in Europe and North America even
today.
With
a gorgeous, coat, the Siberian will always remind you
of an affectionate dog rather than cat. That's the way
Siberians have been created - to be more doggish in their
outlook.
Despite
being large, well muscled cats - that should remind you
of strength for some vague reason - they bring to your
mind images of waddling gaits. Round and kittenish are
adjectives that go well with Siberians.
The
average Siberian enjoys an extended kittenhood in terms
of feeling and behaving kittenish even at 5 years. They
take an awfully long time to behave like adult cats do.
So, if you are looking for a doggish kind of very, playful
cat the Siberian would be ideal for you and your family.
Acceptable eye colors include green, gold and hazel while
blue is acceptable in the colour point class.
Disqualifications
include thin adult cats who are underweight, have narrow
muzzle, almond shaped eyes, very long legs, thin legs,
small ears, large ears, kinked tails, incorrect number
of toes and crossed eyes.
Siberians
are born with a wide range of acceptable coat colours.
Buttons, spots and lockets are acceptable for all colours.
In
the traditional class, the pattern/color descriptions
are the same as the Persian while for the colorpoint,
mitted and bicolor it is exactly like the Ragdoll. For
lynx points and tortie points it's similar to the Birman.
