Unknown sheep bacterium classified Named.

Recently
Collins and coworkers at the Department of Food Science
ansd Technology, detected an unknown Gram-positive
rod-shaped bacterium. The bacteria which was isolated
from skin scrapings from the infected head of a sheep
was analysed for family and groups.

16sRNA
sequencing disclosed the identity of the unknown organism
as one belonging to a member of the genus Corynebacterium.
The investigators have named this unknown bacterium as Corynebacterium
capitovis sp. nov. Any one who has similar or related information
or isolated a similar bacteria from sheep or any other species
may write to Collins and exchange notes on similarity and
differences.
