5th Canine kidney transplant operation planned

What does one do when one’s pet dog’s kidneys are failing? One life saving option may be to go in for a kidney transplant. That’s precisely what a couple from New Jersey decided to do. Larry and Stephanie Cohen recently bought a one year-old Belgian Malinois called Tom for 710 pounds to be a donor for their pet dog Foster.

If the Cohens can go ahead with their plans, Foster may soon travel to California for a £8,500 canine transplant operation. Foster will be the fifth such patient in the US to have a canine kidney transplant. The good news is that all the transplanted patients till date have been doing well without suffering any ill effects.
