Americans
soon to ADOPT on Holiday!
Adopt
a pet while on vacation may be America's new song for the
new year!
That's what an animal welfare group is working towards.
The organisation which calls itself by a very interesting
and encouraging name - ADOPT ( Animals Deserving of Proper
Treatment) is going to be vividly scouting the American
landscapes, both rural and urban searching for friends who
want to adopt pets while on vacation.
ADOPT's
exciting new campaign has been planned to wake up all of
America to the siren call of service while on vacation.
Styled as the first national "Home 4 the Holidays"
the campaign hopes to bring pet adoption live and kicking
in to American households, holiday homes and vacation spots.
Organisers of this interesting idea hope to provide loving
homes for more than 150,000 pets across the nation. The
ADOPT campaign this year has been planned to start on January
6, 2002. This nationwide campaign follows in the heels of
a successful campaign run earlier in 1999 by the Helen Woodward
Animal Center
Although restricted to San Diego County in southern California,
that fledgling effort found homes for 2,500 pets. This country
wide campaign should surely have a number of adopted pets
that' s at least twenty times that number, if not fifty
or hundred times more.
