Play some water games with your pets!
Introduction
 |
Water
games can be fun! To play with your pets and your
kids. Of course, you must play a water game with your
pets and your kids only on warm, sunny days. As you
obviously know, clear skies and the sun shining down
brightly definitely make for pleasant weather.
|
Before,
you start playing a water game, make sure that your pets
and your kids are fond of the water and know how to swim.
This is essential because if your pets are scared of water,
you could end up terrifying your pets instead of helping
them have a good time.
We have heard of the cats and dogs who howl and mew so piteously
every time they go close to a puddle smaller than them or
have to have their ritual monthly bath or even sponge bath.
Feel sorry for your pets if they don't like the water. Don't
try to make them like a water game, if they are not fond
of the water. It doesn't work that way.
Water
games can be ideally played in a small swimming pool. Before
you start playing a water game, you need to ensure that
the swimming pool is really squeaky clean. Otherwise, you,
your pets and kids could all end up with a water borne infection.
And there are plenty of diseases which are transmitted through
water. Therefore, watch out ! Before you start playing games
in the water.
You
also need to remember that before playing any sport, you,
your pets and kids should do so on an empty stomach or at
least have a four hour interval before or after a meal.
Water
Float Chasers
This is a very simple game to design and play. What you
need to do is to create a set of odd shaped or interestingly
shaped water floaters. You can make them using any material
that floats on water. To make them very interesting, you
could add a lot of bells that make tinkling sounds. Therefore,
as the water floaters move in the water, your pets are going
to hear some very interesting melodious sounds being made.
You
can also add little bits of food to the water floaters.
Therefore, everytime, your pet succeeds in catching any
single water floater, and pulling them out of the water,
he or she gets a tempting treat to eat. That makes for a
very interesting game and a food treat too!
Water
skiing
 |
Here,
you can show your pet how to be comfortable on a flat
water floater, large enough to accommodate your pet.
You can go skiing on the water and accompanied by
your pet.
Both of you can have a whale of a time as you get
drowned in sprays of water.

Seek a boo!
 |
Here,
what you can do is teach your pet to swim in the water.
Then, you can play an aquatic version of the chase
and run game that you normally play on land. Another
option would be to have something interesting attached
to you. It could be a colourful little ball or scarf
that keeps waving from your wrist or a small tinkling
bell attached to your wrist. Keep moving! And watch
your pet chase after the moving object. This can be
real fun! Provided you don't tire out your pet. Let
your pet win every now and then. It's a delightful
game, that is especially suitable for the large breed
dogs like German shepherds and labradors to play.

Water throwball
 |
In
this game, what you can do is to have a large bright,
coloured ball floating in the water. Throw it high
in the air and watch your pets make that perfect
sweeping leap, trying to catch the ball before it
lands in the water. Another way in which you could
play the game is to throw the ball high in the air,
with a loud scream and then start swimming after
it yourself. That way, your pets could be confused
about who's going to get the ball first, you or
your pets? Makes it interesting. You could also
add some tinkling bells to the balls to make them
sound more interesting.

Dodge
water spray
This is a water game that could be played on land, may be
in your garden. What you need to have ready with you is
a nice, gardening tube with a spray nozzle attached to one
end. Then, you could run around waving the spray nozzle
in the air at irregular intervals. If a bunch of children
and a group of pets are together playing this game, it could
be very exciting! Because both children and pets love this
kind of muddily water game.
Ring
a wave
This game could be very suitable for the large breed dogs.
It's okay even for the small breed dogs, provided you have
a suitably sized smaller ring for them to play. Once you
have a really, light ring with you, you could just throw
it in the water. Don't forget to attach a small treat in
the centre of the ring. Watch your pets simply cruise fast
forward to catch the ring double quick.
Conclusion
Try playing some water games with your pets and your kids
today. It could be fun and could provide a change from the
monotony of games played on the ground. After a refreshing
round of a water game, you need to make sure that you wipe
your pets dry and keep them warm. Of course, this is only
if the sunshine is not good enough to keep them warm and
dry.
